The Gift of Guilt

I have to say that guilt sucks most of the time. My heart is filled with it in abundance. The main affect I've experienced is a paralyzing fear from a desire not to repeat behaviors. There are some behaviors to which this works for the positive, but on the whole, the fear thing does not work well.

I did have an experience today in which I gained a gift from guilt. I was trying to be angry about some people. Guilt transformed into wisdom, and I saw my behavior as a tempering force to the possible rage. I am not a saint. Others are hardly expected to be so too. So, my anger was sidelined into something that looked like forgiveness and understanding.
