I found an article today (http://www.zdnet.com/you-have-to-see-this-the-business-case-for-happy-employees-7000028796/) that states happiness as a business case. I completely agree with this. It is one thing to attract good people. It is another thing to use them effectively, and then hang onto them. The embedded Youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tre79ppLpII#t=267) presented the following information: 50% of a workforce expands only enough to not get fired, and that amount is 60% of their full potential.
A scary fact: 86% of employees plan to look for a job in 2013 and 79% expect to succeed. Shawn Riegsecker says that you can’t loose people. It is an investment lost. Shawn’s company, Centro, only has 4% turnover. This is phenomenal and adds to the bottom line of the company.
This is important stuff to me for a personal reason. We’ll see how it works out!
