A DeviantArt group (The-Poetry-Cafe) has a 100 theme challenge. I have that many, plus more, days left to my year of poetry. The poem “Introduction” is the first of the themes. I've chosen to draw on an aspect that finds itself into many of my poems. Expressing this is an introduction to myself.

Introduction
Bonus Poem for Day 165 – 20150614

Given over to romance,
over to the lyrics of lovers.
Tunes of ages flow through
my mind to feed my soul.
I'll give myself over to you
if that is what you'll have
in the moment of dance
where we are apart,
completely one with the all.

Given over to romance,
over to the beauty of the world.
Seeing it all in separateness,
relative loveliness waiting
to be seen in shades of expression,
each a slice of divine's nod,
angelic and demonic,
in this space of the seeking
for the thing to make us complete.

Given over to romance,
over to the futility of it all.
To see, and feel, and express,
the breadth of pushing against
the ugliness of what could be
as we embrace what should be.
Lyrics of lovers, beauty of the world,
wrap your arms around this one
as I stake my life on romance.

Being a magical one means diving deep before seeking to survive. The poem “Path of the Magical One” is a brief look into the journey.


Path of the Magical One
Poem for Day 165 – 20150614

To be a magical one,
with a hundred thousand hopes,
an equal number of sorrows,
triumphs of the striving will,
sobering defeats of the seeking soul.

Witness the tools of the fallen one,
held in hand and heart alike,
unseen by those around them,
half remembered at the best,
salvation held close at hand.

Memories are the first tool,
reaching back in time,
joining disparate lines,
creating illusions of connection
where there is no separation.

Knowing is the greatest tool,
thrust upon the magical one.
Curiosity is fascinating,
knowing is the taskmaster,
distractions made illogical.

Dance and music handmaidens
to the muses' desire to expand.
The magical one hold tight to hopes,
releases to sorrows to their place,
and the seeking soul continues on.

Evil Question
Bonus Poem for Day 165 – 20150614

“Are you Evil?”
It must be the eyes,
or the hair,
or the way you carry
yourself.
Green is the color
of money.
Red the color
of blood.
Assurity
in life.
All of these
things are
evil.
Well,
maybe just the last.
“Are you Evil?”,
not at all my friend.
