A Commercial 'Lie'

This weekend I went to an auction and witnessed the commercial lie. There is nothing wrong with the commercial lie, but I found the entire thing to be amusing once I spotted it.

The auction company is the one that auctions off flooring supplies across the SE. I believe they are based in FL. Anyway, the auctioneer was SURE to let the audience know when he was nearly giving the stuff away. Oh my gosh... we heard all about how some of the stuff usually went for $6 a square foot, and we were SO lucky to be able to steal it from him for $1 a square foot.

The other side of this coin was the selling of older TV and computer equipment that went for more than it was really worth. The auctioneer didn't stand up and say, "heh guys, I am SO glad you are paying too much for this stuff. We are making SO much money off of you! Thank you for coming!!!". Giggle... the poor mouth had vanished and the company was gladly (and quietly) accepting people's money.

Anyway... I suppose everyone is out to make a buck!
