The Circus
I wish I could run away
To the Circus I would go
Underneath the big top
With the freaks
The Circus would be my home
I would entertain
Visitors from outside
My family would be within
Visit me at the Circus
Join me if you wish
There is plenty of room
Underneath the big top
Rooms without walls
Freaks united
There at the Circus
I wish I could run away

The original version of “The Circus” was written to have an alternate version of the poem within the poem. The lines in the stanzas could be combined to create a new poem. In the redux, the revived version of the poem, I’ve grouped the first lines together, the second lines together, and so on. I think this version is better than the original. It is closer to the message I wanted to share.
