Poem - Turn the Coin

This poem goes out to the friends that I saw for a short time this holiday season. Life's adventures have moved them down the road to lives beyond my immediate bubble. Their return is bitter-sweet. They shall return again, with fair winds and God's grace.

Turn the Coin
Poem for Day 98 – 20141230

There are two sides,
front and back,
to each coin.
I remind myself of this
when I see you today.
My heart rejoices:
in surprise,
in joy.
You are here for a time.
A time that seems to short
in comparison to all the times
that came before.
It was those times,
so many days,
connections were made.
Now is not then,
and you have grown.
I have too,
this is so.
I celebrate,
this is natural,
time is in your favor,
friend of mine.
Now you go, back,
to the other world,
the world you live now.
I turn the coin and think.
You shall return one day.
This is what my heart says.
