Could Have Been
Poem for Day 080 – 20150321
Stuck in amber, wrapped in time,
limitless options boil down to none,
Where are my dreams, were they there?
What has become of the once I could be?
Energy depleted, soul still intact.
A living death is the impact.
World still spins on shared axis,
part of the whole, isolated from all.
It is an illusion, the less and more.
Grasping at aspects just out of reach,
Decline the invite, leave the floor,
what more is there to this dance of the soul?
Stuck in amber, world draped in sheets.
The deserted homestead feels incomplete.
I drift through the rooms in quiet despair,
raise not your voice to what I once could have been
