Poem - Beauty

For me, beauty of the human form is a changing interplay of the outward and inward. Beauty crosses societal and age barriers. It is a primitive foundation on which life is built. The poem “Beauty” explores the primal nature and sources of beauty.

Poem for Day 164 – 20150613

They say form follows function,
the tool is right for the job.
I confess that my predilections
follow other other pathways.
Allow me to explain my perception,
the factors that inform my sense
of human aesthetics desired,
of beauty seen by my eyes.

Mother nature provides its share,
generous bounty of inheritance,
on the shoulders of giants
the beauty is born to life.
Personal style makes or breaks,
more than icing on the cake.
Accent there, focus there,
beauty made live by personal choice.

Sum more than the whole of the parts,
allocated and positioned,
seeing the total picture
in the beauty of combination.
In the end I see it everywhere,
so many medleys of form and fashion.
Beauty becomes more than function,
it is divine's face present here now.
