Poem - First Kiss

I had a dream about a first kiss. One of the benefits of being old(er) is experiencing my fair share of fist kisses. I'm not talking about the spin-the-bottle type. I'm talking about the “we were friends and then BAM we kissed”. Life changes after the event. There is no set path, but there is little chance of going back to the way it was before. This gives me caution. Putting aside the fact I'm married to a very lovely lady who kisses very well... while I completely adore the many beautiful people around me, and very much treasure the time I have with them, I would be reluctant to move onto that first kiss.

First Kiss
Bonus Poem for Day 172 – 20150621

Kiss is met, boundary crossed,
today different from yesterday.
Mutual consent of shared desire,
curiosity satisfied.

This kiss caught us by surprise,
product of moment's coming or going.
Good night to fair one of my life,
hello to delight of intimate contact.

First kiss of the rest of our lives,
last one of its special kind.
Innocence passed, seeking beyond,
to see if bodies follow lip's lead.

So many steps in the journey
that led to this moment in time.
Emotions joined in a crossroads
with a shared track to follow now.

Kiss is met, innocence released,
lives now forever changed.
Our first kiss was promise blessed,
may it lead to many more lips' caress.
