Poem - Smile Like a Clown

Clowns seem to be as universally feared as they are loved. This begs the question, why are there clowns? They are there to hide the tears.

Smile Like a Clown
Poem for Day 222 – 20150810

When the words are too dark,
and the verse shows your hand,
make light to the world
and smile like a clown.

Wear shoes far too large,
and red grease on your grin,
the world loves its comfort
though the heart may be grim.

In the end it be well,
at least they hope it will,
for when words are so dark
the endings often are too.

So smile like a clown,
be brave in the face,
because the words are on view
and the world is your stage.
