Future Advice in Five Syllables
Poem for Day 272 – 20150930
If I could go back,
speak to my past self,
the younger version,
I'd have things to say.
I could point out the
opportunities
of life passed by.
Beg them to fly high,
express the talent
only shown at the
dusk of life lived.
Give assurance,
without vanity,
of handsomeness
then unrealized.
I would comfort them,
assuring that all
is temporary.
Convey letting go
is necessary
for your sanity.
Tell them to be strong,
that life continues.
Admit that staying
is really hard.
That bravery
is showing up
for life uncensored
with love in the heart
for I was loved.
