Poem - Inner Screams

Perhaps I am the only person in the world with something that I should share, but cannot. God is indeed kind if this is the case. The poem “Inner Screams” is about the inability to share.

Inner Screams

How can I tell you
if you won't understand?
You'll only hear noise
from a voice until now silenced.

What thoughts can I share
that won't condemn me at hand
convicted before I start
by strength of your disgust?

These are the most important
words I could possibly share
locked outside comprehension
by those with power to hear.

On the verge of tumbling forth
inmates abandoning the sunken soul
only to return when fears are confirmed
these words that I wish I could say.

My mutterings will remain my own
the pain within when silence reigns
in land through which I walk
where nobody can hear my inner screams.
