Remember Me
Remember me when the veil
obscures the space we’ve embraced
sight accepted as the norm
then removed to spite the heart
reverence for what we’ve had
does not not assure what may come
what’s clasped to heart fails to hold
continuance of what’s most dear
an absence does not make
a heart fonder when tears remain
there is a way to salve the wound
while the past will not unwind
commemorating what came before
scribbling here to future’s arms
recollection becomes the path
looking back to through poet’s pen
to reminisce against these words
written now to show my love.
